Wayne Root opened the first vending location for raw chicken and eggs (current site of Madison Motors). He transports products between Fremont and Cleveland.
Wayne and Grace buy the farm where Roots Poultry still operates, raising and processing chickens with a small 2-room building (10x10 retail shop + processing area).
Expanded part of current building. Wayne & Grace create their special seasoning blend and sell shredded chicken in bulk, supporting local churches and retail sales.
Due to new inspection regulations, Roots stops slaughtering on-site and focuses on processing. Business remains small, employing fewer than 10 people.

Roots obtains red meat license to produce BBQ Pork and other beef/pork products, expanding offerings to vendors and ice cream shops.
Matt and Taylor take over during COVID-19, increasing demand for Roots products. Family legacy continues.
Roots introduces a mobile grocery store and food truck to serve the community. In expanding food service offerings, Matt transitions from firefighter to full-time business focus.
Roots remains grounded to their origins while continuing to grow. Employing around 35 people including a management team and multiple delivery drivers.
